British Supermarket Chain Honored for Strategic Software Asset Management

Aspera customer Argos Ltd. wins with its optimized IBM software support contract

Aachen/London, September 26th, 2018 – British supermarket group Argos Ltd. has won the second place at the prestigious SAMS Awards 2018 for their successful negotiation and implementation of a new and improved support model for their IBM software.

For the eighth year in a row, the we.CONNECT Group will present the SAMS Award for outstanding achievement in the enterprise-wide rollout of software asset and license management strategies. Argos Ltd. was nominated in the category “Single Product / Single Business Problem” for a sophisticated new service package for IBM support. The package offers higher service levels for critical systems at significantly lower prices. This was made possible by transparent and continuously updated Software Asset Management data.

Today we benefit from the best and most cost-effective support from two different worlds, namely a combination of support services from both IBM and a third-party provider, Origina. The new support model offers significantly better service levels than before and meets our dynamic needs, such as increased resources during peak times.
