Voith Awarded First Place for Software License Management with Aspera in the SAMS Europe 2014 Award

Aspera is delighted to congratulate our customer Voith on winning the prestigious Software Asset Management Strategies (SAMS) Europe Award

Voith now joins Aspera customers, Evonik Industries and Deutsche Post DHL, who were awarded the prestigious first place prize in previous years.

Voith received first place for its project 'LIMA' that established a group-wide, centralized Software License Management program with documented, standardized processes. The project established the required proecces, technical and organizational foundations for SAM and included the implementation of Aspera's license management tool, SmartTrack, which tracks license compliance.  In addition to the cost avoidance supported by compliance and audit prevention, managing the procurement status and availability of Microsoft licenses is a particularly important role of license management at Voith.

The jury members evaluated all submitted projects based on criteria such as effective cost reduction, applied methods and procedures, improved processes, and increased software compliance. The SAMS Europe Award was judged by an independent jury composed of David Foxen, Research Analyst at ITAM Review, Rajiv Gupta, Senior Manager/Business Process Lead - GRC & SAP Security at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd., and Teddy Monin, Purchasing Manager at Informatique Banque Populaire.

"The SAMS Europe Award is especially important to the Software Asset Management industry to show organizations that license management is achievable and lucrative. From the entire team at Aspera, we congratulate Michael Bonk and the SAM Team at Voith for their diligence and hard work. Working together with Voith has been a great pleasure and we are excited to continue this successful partnership," commented Olaf Diehl, Chief Operations Officer of Aspera GmbH.
